Dreaming of Fall

Cinque Terre - Part Two

On our second day, our plan was to take the path that goes along the sea and connects all 5 towns. Unfortunately, the path was closed due to a land slide. We were really bummed but we heard about a path that goes up into the hills that you can take in between towns instead. I love a good hike so we decided to try it. Oh man. This was the steepest, most treacherous path I've ever been on. It took us almost 3 or 4 hours to get to the next town which was apparently only a couple miles away...

   

This is only about 45 minutes in and you can see how high we climbed already. The views really made this part worth it!

This was someone's cute little house! I would love to live there! You would never be overweight because the climb to your house would keep you in shape!

Then we ended up in some dense forest and didn't seem to be getting any closer to the next town! We just kept getting further and further into the forest.

This is how far we were from Vernazza at this point but still not close to Corniglia...

   

  

These are all of the other villages. We were so tired by the time we got to Corniglia, that we took the train to the other 3 towns. It was fun to see all of the the other towns but it just reinforced that we had picked the best one! We had a nice dinner to end our time there and then we were up in the morning to head to Florence!

Cinque Terre - Part One

My friend and I had really been looking forward to going to Cinque Terre and it did not disappoint. We were looking for a place to stay online and found a really cute and reasonable place in Vernazza. I am so glad we picked this town because it was by far my favorite of the five. These towns are like something out of another time or a story book. Sure, they can get a bit touristy but they have a lot of real charm. This was by far one of my favorite places I went on this trip. I'm sure you can see why!

   

The first day, we grabbed dinner and made sure to be out on the trail along the cliff around sunset. It was really breathtaking and the city looked so pretty at night!

Hey Look, An Outfit Post

It has been a long time since I posted one of these, so I thought I would throw one out there. I wore this last week when we had super hot weather. This dress is originally J Crew but I got it at the thrift store! It was much more than I would normally spend at the thrift store ($14.99) but I looked it up on Ebay and it was selling for around 80 bucks. I call that a win!

South of France - Monaco

I was going to do Villefranche and Monaco in the same post but it started to get really picture heavy. I'm really bad at wheedling down the pictures! I want to show you all everything. I suppose there are worse things. Anyway, back to the trip. We hopped on the train and arrived in Monaco. You really have to walk quite a ways from the train station to get anywhere worth seeing. Unfortunately, Monaco was gearing up for the Grand Prix so a lot of things were blocked off and it was a bit sad.

You can see the stands set up for the race blocking the view of the casino behind me.

A lot of guys were oogling this car... They made sure to park all the nicest cars right out front and this one was in front of all of them. Must be good!

Then we headed to this really nice restaurant on the beach for a 30th birthday dinner to be remembered!

After the south of France, we were off to Italy so stay tuned!
