On Friday, Ace and I decided to head over to the NE Minneapolis dog parade. It's not really a parade per se, just a bunch of dogs and their owners walking around the neighborhood. There is always a really nice gift bag from Bone Adventure and then lots of vendors at the end. You are encouraged to have your dog wear a costume which is why Ace is wearing his cape. I was talking with my cousin/friend and her husband so we missed the costume contest. I like to think Ace would have been a finalist thanks to my superior glue gun skills :)
My cousin's two dogs :)
Tired after a fun night!
Back tomorrow with what I wore!

Lots of Reasons
Hi all,
Yes. I'm still alive. Nothing tragic has happened. I've just been in a funk. Is that a good enough reason not to blog? I think so. Last week, I told you that I had a craft show on Sunday and that was my excuse for the lack of posts last week. The craft show went OK. I sold enough to cover the entrance fee plus a bit more. I had a really bad spot which I'm a little bitter about but I'm trying to get over it. You can see my set up below. Thanks to Beth and Nora for stopping by (even though Nora couldn't find me. Stupid spot).

If you are a diligent reader (I'm sure you all are), you know that I got LASIK on Friday. The surgery itself was totally freaky (I may have cried afterwards. I said I may have.) but it's been pretty awesome. I haven't been able to wear eye makeup since so I haven't been feeling like taking pictures of myself. Lame excuse I know but there it is. Monday evening I had a fun date with Megan at the Mall of America. She had to return something at H&M and so we browsed a couple of stores and had a great time. I'm going to be taking some engagement pictures for her so we laid that out and it is going to be so fun. We are going to do a traditional set and then take some pictures at the State Fair. Can't wait for that!
I had a really bad day on Tuesday. I overslept because of a storm. I was rushed so I forgot my eye drops at home and had to ask my dad to drive to my house, pick them up and drive them 30 mins to my work to drop them off. Love him. Then, I looked at my bank account. Yikes. Way less than you thought was in there is never a good feeling. Stupid student loans. However, my bad day was made much better by the activities of the evening. I went out for Thai food with some friends and then to a movie with my friend/cousin. We saw Snow White and the Huntsman at the discount theater. Turns out it was 1/2 off Tuesday. My ticket was a whopping $2. They have servers that bring you food too. We got 2 big pops and a tub of popcorn. Turns out they were also1/2 and everything was only $6. My cousin whispered to me, "This is our new theater." I agree :) Last night, I had a lovely meeting with a salon manager who I'm in the talks with to put some of my photography up in their salon. Super cool. I hope it pans out! I also set up a Mint.com account and tried to figure out my money situation. I sorted all my mail and then had a lovely evening with the book club ladies. We decided to read 50 Shade of Grey for next month and I can't wait!
Needless to say, I've been busy and funk-y. Not to be confused with funky. I'm that all the time Also, a bad mood can usually be turned around by the guy below.
I hope to be back with some outfits next week! My eye makeup ban is lifted tomorrow so I hope to get some outfits photographed this weekend. Tomorrow is the NE Minneapolis dog parade so I will for sure have some photos of that. Have a great weekend everyone!

For the Locals: No Coast Craft-O-Rama
Hi all. I'm having a mild huge freak out right now. Posts will probably be few and far between and this is why. I just got an email saying that I was taken off the waiting list for a big craft show. One that I never expected to be in. That's on Sunday. As in, this Sunday. Two days after my lasik surgery. It's going to be super fun but I am not prepared. At. All. I scrambled and ordered some extra prints online last night. I'm going to attempt to make more jewelry this week and hopefully make some postcards. The tables I usually use are at my grandma's (who lives 2 hours away) because she's having a garage sale in August. Now I have no tables. Oh god help me. It is never a good idea to start organizing your craft stuff on the week of a show...
Needless to say, I need moral support. Please come on Sunday and say hi. I would really appreciate it! It is going to be really fun with food trucks, puppet workshop, paddle board demo and much more. Bring the family! Let me see a familiar face or two :) Here's the link!

It Nice Just to be Nominated
The lovely Beth tagged me in her post and nominated me with a Liebster award. A what you say? Well, here's an explanation: "The Liebster award is given to upcoming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. The meaning: Liebster is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing and welcome."
Here's the rules:
1. Each person must post 11 things about themselves 2. Answer the questions that the tagger set for you plus create 11 questions for the people you've tagged to answer. 3. Choose 11 people and link them in your post. 4. Go to their page and tell them. 5. No tag backs!

See my answer's to Beth's questions:
1. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
It depends on my mood. I always love mint chocolate chip and raspberry though. Anything chocolate with peanut butter is always delicious too :)
2. If money was no object, where would you like to travel most?
This is a toughy! I would love to go to Scandinavia because my family is from there. It's really expensive there so that's why it's lower on the list. Australia and New Zealand for sure. I've always loved Scotland and I really want to see the Hebrides. I'm a sucker for beautiful light and rocky coastline. Throw Ireland into that mix too. I would also go on an African safari and bum around Europe.
Norway
Hebrides
3. Describe to me your perfect day off.
I would hit up the thrift store or maybe a flea market/estate sale, hang with Ace, go out to eat with friends and go for a swim. If I had time, I would love to see a movie or a play too.
4. What's your favorite guilty pleasure?
I watch a lot of bad TV and Disney channel movies. I love to make a bowl of popcorn, have a pop (coke zero cherry), a handful of peanut butter M&Ms and watch a movie.
5. What is your favorite season?
Fall. Hands down. Apple orchards, crisp leaves, the smell in the air, hot cocoa, sweaters, Halloween. Need I say more?
6. (Stealing Amanda's) Top 5 Favorite Movies. Go.
Yikes. Hard one. I like to think of this as "Movies I watch multiple times and still love" or "I will watch this anytime it comes on TV" So: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Pride and Prejudice (the newer one), My Fair Lady, Ferris Buller's Day Off and She's the Man :)
7. What is your least favorite household chore?
Ugh a lot. Ironing, putting away laundry and unloading the dishwasher are currently at the top of the list.
8. Coffee or tea or neither?
Neither. I always like a good Arnie Palmer though!
9. Last book you read? Do you recommend it?
I just read a book by Iris Johansen. 8 Days to Live maybe? I've read a bunch of her other books so I liked it. Real page turner!
10. What was your favorite childhood toy?
Oh, I'm not sure. I read a lot as a kid. I was into Barbies, My Little Ponies and Little People. So glad my mom still has it all in our basement in case I ever have kids!
11. Do you have any bad habits?
I'm sure. I am lazy which leads to a lot of bad things. I don't clean as much as I should, I eat what's easiest and I don't exercise that much. Other than that, I'm perfect. ha!
I'm not sure who to tag because most people have blogs bigger than mine. Feel free to answer the questions and let me know you did so in the comments!

Sometimes I Cook: Potato Salad
This is a cherished family recipe passed down throughout the years good tasting potato salad my mom always makes. It is in our Mohs family reunion cookbook so the first part could be true. My mom "doesn't use a recipe" but I do so I'm sharing it with you. Trust me. This is delicious and you WILL get compliments on it. It really isn't hard, it's just a lot of time in between steps if you want a superior taste. Which you do. Also this makes A LOT of potato salad. Be warned.
You'll need:
Potatoes - any kind will do. Buy a 5lb bag and then decide how many you want
Eggs - about 3
Mayo - I prefer light but go full blast if you want
Mustard - yellow
Sugar
Vinegar
Cream or milk
Step 1: The night before preferably or early in the day, boil potatoes and eggs. In case you don't know what they look like, I've included pictures below. I used about 7 medium potatoes. The "recipe" calls for 5 lbs. Um, yeah. I like my salad more "saucy" so I use less potatoes. Give both a whirl and let me know what you like better. Also, boil extra eggs and then use them for yummy egg salad later. Number one because it's delicious for lunch, number two you always need more mayo in your diet and three it can annoy your co-workers. The recipe only calls for about 3 eggs. More if you really like eggs. Store overnight in the fridge.
The next day (or later the first day) get a really big salad bowl and peel your potatoes and eggs and cut them up into edible sized cubes. See below.
In a separate smaller bowl, mix 2 cups of mayo, 2 squirts of mustard, 1 tbsp of sugar and 1tbsp of vinegar. Apple cider is better according to the expert but in a pinch white wine should work. Mix together and then thin out a bit using a splash or 2 of cream or milk.
Then add dill and lots of it. Mmm! I think it's much easier to mix the dill in with the mayo mixture instead of with the potatoes and eggs but do whatever floats your boat.
Mix in the giant bowl with eggs and potatoes. Add onion if you're feeling fancy.
Voila! Delicious potato salad. It's always better if you give it a couple hours to muddle in the fridge before serving. Get ready for people to be clamoring to have you make this at every social gathering. Just let them know the recipe is a Mohs family secret.

Notice Anything Different?!
Isn't my new blog header just the cutest?! My talented friend Emma designed it for me as well as the cute buttons below. She is super talented and I'm so happy she agreed to help me with this! She was so great to work with and I love how it turned out. Totally me. I gave her a rough idea and it is so much better than I was hoping for. She even added Ace :)
Go check out her website where you can find more of her wonderful work! I love this drawing of hers!
So pretty right? She also has great style and has a fun blog. Go check it out here. Thanks again Emma for my beautiful new header. I'm going online to order business cards right now! :)

Trip to the Flea Market
Get ready for a series of random pictures. Megan of Two Birds and my friend Amanda went with me to a flea market. Disclaimer: the flea market is about an hour northwest of the Twin Cities... don't judge us based on the following pictures. I got a ton of fun stuff, a sunburn and some good food. All in all, worth the trip for sure. If you are local, this flea market is in Annadale and runs every Saturday in the summer. Check it out! Lots of junk and lots of good stuff too. :) PS. I didn't feel comfortable taking pictures of the actual booths so you'll have to settle for the "overview" pictures.
We decided to stop for lunch at the Peppermint Twist. I think you'll see why in a minute...
We totally weren't those creepy older people with no kids who sat in the little house to eat and took pictures in front of giant wood bears. Nope. Not us.

4th of July
Picnics were had, beaches were visited and fireworks were watched. Only thing that would have made it better was not having to work the next day. Here's a couple of pictures!

4th of July Outfit Ideas
It's a big US holiday coming up. Even though I'm not going out of town or planning anything special, I still want to dress up. I put together a couple of different ideas depending on how I'm feeling on the day. I don't have anything like a lot of these, but they are good inspiration nonetheless. Maybe a trip to Old Navy or Forever 21 is in my future :)
For that nautical vibe, look to wide stipes and seafaring accessories.
For a more preppy look, stick with classic silhouettes and accessories
For a more lady-like take on the holiday, pair a pretty dress with dainty details like bows
For a more casual look, go more American in spirit and get your patriotic colors from accessories
