I know I'm sporadic in my posting and I apologize for that. When I found out today was Thrift Day over at
Everybody Everywhere, I knew I had to get a post in. If you have read this blog at all, you know that I love to go to the thrift store. I wanted to wear everything thrifted in this post but I settled for 2/3 :) I love this skirt that I got from
Amanda at their pop up sale (I can't wait for the one next weekend!). It is a tad too big and too long but I love it so I wear it anyway. If anyone has a tip on how to make it smaller and shorter without ruining the bottom, I would love to hear how it can be done. Maybe cut off the waistband and sew in new elastic?

Shirt, shoes, belt - Thrifted
Skirt -Two Birds/Salvaged Strawberry vintage sale (PELICAN'S people, does it get better?!)
Thanks to this inspiration, I wanted to do a special thing for you all. I came up with the idea for having Thrift Week next week. The idea is to try to wear the majority of things in each outfit that I have found thrifting and maybe even post some of my thrift tips or favorite thrift stores. I hope to do at least a couple of posts next week! (fingers crossed) :) If anyone wants to join me, feel free!
LOVE this skirt!!! LOVE. Did I say I love it?! Because I do. I love it! :)
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is made of awesome! I love thrift week. I was getting so annoyed with xmas, consumerism blablabla that I did something just like it the week leading into xmas. I was totally smug about it too (but you are not!).
ReplyDeleteYou have to love thrifting - honestly! You find some of the best possible things. Love this skirt, it makes the entire outfit. Super, super cute!
ReplyDeleteAdorable skirt!
ReplyDeletei lOVE the skirt
ReplyDeleteI do love it! I think you have to have a lot of patience and see the good in the not so good. Plus, thrift stores are way less gross than they were even a couple of years ago.
ReplyDeleteYou should do it again! It will be really fun. I'm going to try to not be smug. However, I might brag a bit about some of the cute stuff I've found... :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it the cutest! That's why I've been scared to try and alter it because I don't want to wreck it.
ReplyDeleteI love thrifting and EBEW. However I've run out of time to keep up with group events. BUT I've just discovered YOU via twitter. So hello, and um, you rock. -Bella Q

ReplyDeleteYeah I love it! I just need to figure out how to make it a bit smaller without wrecking the bottom.
ReplyDeleteThanks! You rock too :) I have a hard time remembering EBEW stuff but I saw thrift day and knew I had to do it!
