It's a GIRL!

I know I've told a few of you in person but my sister gave me the thumbs up to share it with all of you. I'm going to be an AUNT! My sister and her husband just found out today that it's going to be.... A GIRL!

I'm going to be planning her baby shower and thrifting clothes for her like mad. Any ideas, links, pictures of cute things on pintrest will be appreciated. I'd already started a small (gender neutral) collecting of pins but now that I know it's going to be a girl, I'm going to go nuts! I will spare you for the most part but I think I will be back Favorite Finds Friday and there might (ok yes there will) be cute baby things stuck in there.

My sister's style is WAY more preppy than mine but don't think I'm not going to sneak in some stinkin' cute vintage dresses in there. :)  I really want to make her a baby blanket and some other DIY things that will make gift giving more special.



PS. I had to put these in. How cute! They are made from socks. You know baby girl will be getting one of these. :)

Boring

This is what my nights include. That and watching a WHOLE lot of How I Met Your Mother on Netflix. I have just started going to to the gym to keep up my resolution. I'm not sure how to blog and exercise at the same time. Maybe I should have put multi-tasking on my list...

I just wanted to let you know that I'm working on figuring it out so I apologize in advance if things are a bit quiet around here.

Swapping it UP!

I hosted another blogger/friends of blogger swap over the weekend. It was SUPER fun like last time but seemed to be much more smooth. I feel this is because I've grown as a hostess but it's probably just because we've all done it before. :) Thanks to Lindsey for all of the pictures! I brought my camera down but it got lost in the piles until the end.

First Date

Here's what I wore on my date on Wednesday :) I also wore it to my cousin's birthday party. You know you do it too. No one? Alright just me then. It feels great to create an outfit you feel yourself and still cute in. So, I just wear the exact same thing when I want to feel that again. Also, this can only be attempted if you aren't hanging with the same group of people again. I actually went to the store and purchased things full price for this outfit. Look out!

Vegas Night Two

This is what I wore to our dinner for our customers. Tried to be classy but still myself. I bought this dress the last time Modcloth had a sale. I bought 3 and it turned into Goldilocks and the three bears.  One was too small (and damn it was so cute!) and the other was much too big on top (story of my life) and totally unflattering. This dress was JUST RIGHT :) I wish I had gotten a picture of the back because it is a really pretty scoop back. I'm sure I'll be wearing it again though!  Not the best pictures but I wasn't going to go down to the crowded casino to get better pictures.

Vegas Day One

Just a couple of pictures from my first night in Vegas.  I'm wearing a dress I got at the Vintage Sale at the State Fair and earrings from Target. We went to a work party on the roof deck of the Cosmopolitan which was really fun. I don't like country so it didn't matter to me but Rascal Flatts was playing. Free drinks were flowing and good times were had by all!

Sleeving Bag

Sorry I've been so MIA lately. I swear I have pictures coming from Las Vegas soon.  I went on a date on Wednesday when I got back and it was a lot of fun. I've been busy :)

It is a really long story that I'm sure you don't want to hear or wouldn't make sense. But I wanted to show you all my prototype for the sleeving bag. Sleeping bag+snuggie= sleeving bag. This is what you can expect if you call me on the phone after 10pm (and if you're a cute boy I have a crush on)

Trip Time!

Hi all! Just a quick post because I'm off to Vegas in the morning for work. I'm hoping to squeeze in some time for debauchery though so don't you worry.  I just tossed this little number together for a trip to American Apparel to use my groupon and an impromptu visit with Alli and her husband, Alex. It was nice to hang out with them one-on-one instead of the normal group setting that we are usually in. Also, her hair is brown now! Such a change! I think it looks just as cute as the blonde.  Funny story, I was leaving Target which I had to stop at on the way home because I was out of toilet paper. Not a good situation to be in. I'm carrying in all my bags, look down and realize that all of the buttons on this shirt are unbuttoned. Hmm. Good thing I was wearing a tank top underneath. The one thing I'm wondering is, did the checkout lady at Target or any other Target patrons see me all unbuttoned? Or, did it happen when I was carrying all my bags inside. Luckily, this shirt comes with a big bow so I think it covered everything up for the most part. Oh  well, just another day in my embarrassing life.

Anywho, check yourself before you wreck yourself. I'll be home and back at it on Wednesday (on which day I'm also going on a date! So, any outfit recommendations would be appreciated) :)

Alterations

These pictures aren't the best. Here's my excuse. Right as I was taking these, Ace wandered off and then ran away. Down and then across the railroad tracks. I did want to show you this skirt though. I liked the pattern and the color but it was too long and the elastic was really stretched out.  I cut off the old elastic and then sewed a new trench (pocket? sleeve?) and put in new elastic. Aren't you proud of me? :)
