I Swear I'm NOT Following You

Story time. I'm leaving work today but I had to drop something off in the shipping department first. A lady is leaving down the same hallway that I am. Then she goes down the hallway that leads to the outside door. I'm obviously still behind her because that is the way to get out to my car. She will NOT stop looking over her shoulder at me. Yes, we are going the same way. No, I'm not following you. Then we get to the door and I'm right behind her (sue me, I walk fast). She holds the door for me and then gives me this super awkward look. There is one path to get to the parking lot from the door we walked out of. I'm still behind you lady but I'm not following you. Get it? Jeez. It is some subconscious human reaction to look over your shoulder about every 10 seconds to see if the person behind you is following you? So irritating!!

Anywho. I went with Emma, Allison and Maggie to the Mall of St. Paul the other day to find some treasures. I didn't get anything for myself just a cute little strawberry jar for Amanda. She loved strawberries and just opened an Etsy shop too! Go check it out. Ok, I'm off track. Allison found a cute dress and Maggie got some tins for her wedding. I can't wait to see the pictures to see how she incorporates them! Emma was nice enough to snap some pictures of me in my new favorite dress! The colors are so great together and you know I can't walk away from anything plaid. This was before we all gorged ourselves with burgers at the Nook. I got a jucy lucy-esque burger and it was soo good! Can't wait to hang out with these gals again.

Side note: I asked on Twitter the other day whether I should get new tights in maroon or hunter green. Some people responded back and the consensus was maroon (or both :) but I only got one). I'm sure everyone has heard of We Love Colors but I wanted to give my own review quickly. These are superb tights. Yes, they cost more than my Target tights but not by much. They are very thick and I can tell they will last a while and resist snags better than others I have. I might just have to order myself another pair. :) Plus, I think these will keep me warmer later on in the season when the other, more sheer tights just won't cut it. I've already worn them a second time (no pictures unfortunately) but I can see myself wearing them a lot this fall and early winter.

I don't have much to say today. I'm so tired from the swap I hosted today. It was really fun! So fun I forgot to take any pictures. :)

I really love the weather we've been having lately. It's been so nice to just wear a cardigan and not be sweating or freezing.

For the Locals - It's a Date!

It's happening again friends. All of the stars have aligned and the lovely gals of Two Birds and Salvaged Strawberry are having another sale. October 21st and 22nd. Goodbye Summer

This is what I wore on Tuesday when it was still somewhat warm. I finally got this dress back from Shawn's mom. She was kind enough to tailor some of my "finds" from the thrift store. More like stuff I bought that didn't fit right (too big, a bit too small). This dress was a little too long and the hook and eye was missing. Now it's fixed just in time for fall. Wait, that's not right. Oh well, it got it's moment in the sun (literally).

Internet Woes

I know you've heard me complain about my internet before but now I'm stumped as to what to do. I don't pay a ton of money so I want to keep the (much) less expensive option that I have. I'm not a bundler. So, why is just internet so damn expensive? But my internet requires an antenna that now has to be attached to the inside of my window and only works when the window is open. Now that we have frost warnings, I have a dilemma. Stay warm or have internet. Well enough complaining. I am at work right now and don't have the pictures from yesterday uploaded yet.

In lieu of an outfit, I thought I would share this video with you for Red Velvet. The reason I'm sharing is because I pledged to support them on kickstarter and I was actually the first one! I think small businesses need all the help they can get so I thought I would pitch in. It's really exciting to see something that I helped to make happen!

MN State Fair - Day Two

I went to the state fair on Labor Day with Maria and her husband Cole. We pretty much wandered in and out of buildings and ate lots of delicious treats. I hope they had fun exploring the best fair in the US (not that I'm biased).

Oh Hai Fall

Mornings around here have been pretty great. It's been about 55-60 when I leave for work which I think is my favorite temperature range. When I get off work, it's about 85... So, mostly I dress for the morning, am comfortable in the AC all day and then sweat my ass off as soon as I walk outside. That's ok though. My new tights were really sad and really wanted me to wear them so I gave in :) If you can't think back that far (don't worry, I have a bad memory too), you can check out how I wore this dress before. On my birthday no less!

MN State Fair - Day One

Here are a couple of quick pictures from my day at the fair with my cousin Sarah, her husband John and his brother Nyle. It was a quick trip but fun none the less. But, man there were so many people! Craziness. I think because it was SO nice out. My favorite kind of weather: about 65-70 degrees. Perfect for pants and a short sleeve shirt. I love fall!!

It's a Date Part Two

This has been an... interesting... weekend. I went to the fair today and I'm going again tomorrow with Maria. But, yesterday, my boyfriend and I broke up. I want to think it's for the best but it's a bit hard right now. Hopefully, you will have some cheerier posts here soon but for now I just can't muster it.

I wore this to my dad's birthday dinner a couple weeks ago and I'd totally forgotten the pictures were on my camera.
