I was lying in bed the other night trying to think of what I can do to show a little holiday cheer here on the 'ol blog. I know that some of you might not celebrate Christmas but another holiday or maybe not celebrate at all. But this is a blog about my life so I'm going to do it anyway :) I thought a good way to do this was to show you what outfits I'll be wearing to different holiday functions. I think it's easy to think of dressing "festively" as being cheesy or over the top. I don't agree. Sure, you could wear that shirt with a big santa or the sweater that lights up but you can be festive without all that!
Here is the first of a couple of outfits. I would love to see if any of you use these as inspiration and make a holiday outfit of your own. Send me a message or link in the comments if you do! My dad was in a Christmas Carol at our community theater this weekend and this is what I wore. It could be worn at any time during the winter but I thought it was a fun play on candy cane colors which is why I also wore the cream tights.
Outfit details:
Sweater, skirt - Thrifted
Tights - Target
Shoes - Rewind Vintage
Necklace - I want to say Forever 21 or something
Here is a picture of us with my dad! That's my little brother. :)
Your sweater is just too perfect for the holiday season! I mean, it totally would work other times of the year, but around Christmas it's just so perfectly festive!
ReplyDeleteI have a red and white striped dress that I've been thinking of wearing for Christmas. I like theme outfits!
ReplyDeletecute outfit, it has such a lovely christmas charm to it!
ReplyDeleteI love the sweater! You look really great. And your reindeer necklace is so cute. So cool about your dad! I didn't know he was an actor. Fun!
ReplyDeleteI agree! I think I just would have to play it down and wear it with jeans or something. I love that it is candy cane colors though. Festive without being too crazy!
ReplyDeleteOh I hope you wear it! I bet it is really cute!
ReplyDeleteIt totally does! I wasn't even thinking that when I bought it but when I was planning holiday outfits, it was one of the first things I thought of!
ReplyDeleteWell, he is more of a ham than an actor but he did a great job. I think the deer might be offended that you thought it was a reindeer. Maybe he is moonlighting as one during Christmas.
