You'll see the outfit from this set of photos next week but I wanted to share a bit of spring now that the temperatures are back to cold. Hopefully today will be as warm as they are claiming. Back to 70! Weeee!
Happy weekend! I'm hosting my sister's baby shower a week from today and I'm getting really excited!! :) I'm sure you'll be seeing pictures real soon.

Favorite Finds Friday
This isn't much of a "find" because I bought it from Two Birds but let's just pretend, shall we?
I wore this to the first day of the Junk Love sale on Saturday so that's why it's so dark. It's called trying to take pictures after the sun has set. Oh well. Please also enjoy Ace lurking in the background of this picture :)
Outfit Details:
Dress - Two Birds
Shoes, belt - Thrifted
Brooch that you can't really see - made by yours truly

Ace Turns 4!
I'm sure this post is probably boring to some or might label me as a "crazy dog lady" but I don't care. I had a bunch of friends and their fur babies over the other weekend for Ace's birthday party. I can't believe he's already 4! I've had him since he was 7 months old and I would be so sad without him. Even though he drives me crazy a lot of the time :) All I did this year was make a dog friendly cake and some human friendly cupcakes. There was so much peeing this year though so it was horrible and hilarious at the same time. Thank God for concrete floors!

Other Babes in Thriftland - Megan
Another Wednesday, another thrifty lady! Today we are joined by Megan of Feathers and Freckles. I found this lovely lady through Two Birds and I've been loving her blog and her style ever since. A lot like Maggie, she really chooses pieces from the thrift store that mix so well with her other wardrobe that you can't tell which is which. This to me is the sign of a great thrifter. She is also very sweet and didn't think I was a big weirdo for emailing her to participate in my feature. I hope to meet her in person someday! Take it away, Megan!
See the original post here for more photos!
I've been a thrifter since middle school, long before thrifting was ever cool. I can remember lying to my friends about where I bought something because I didn't want to admit it was used. I always worried someone would say, "Hey, I donated that exact shirt to Goodwill. With that exact same juice stain!"
Now that everyone has realized that buying unique clothes for dirt cheap is actually awesome, it becomes harder to find things. I go to my local thrift stores often (meaning, enough that they know my name), and I am not afraid to dig... or stalk the occasional hipster waiting for them to put something down.
I was able to put together this spring ensemble from a thrifted J. Crew dress and LOFT cardigan, and with a few accessories it quickly became one of my favorite go-to outfits.
See the original post here for more photos!
Isn't she so pretty?! Well, I hope you enjoyed Megan! Go check her out here and see more of her great style and mad thrifting skills. Remember, if you want to be a part of the fun, send me an email to babesinthriftland@gmail.com with your post, story/tips and blog. Have a great week!

Sorry!
Hi lovely readers,
I'm sorry for the lack of posts. My house is messy. Is that a good excuse? Well, not really but because it's messy I can't find my camera cord. I have about 3-4 posts worth of good material (debatable) but I can't get it from my camera to my computer without that stupid cord.
Good news? My sister is coming into to town for a baby shower on April 7th and all of my family (well the woman) will be coming to it. They all want to see my place. So, my place will eventually have to be cleaned. There is another Other Babes in Thriftland coming up tomorrow so get ready for that! I'll try to clean sometime this week but with book club tonight and my tax appointment tomorrow, it's not going to happen anytime soon :)
You are all the best! I can't believe I'm only a couple people away from 100 followers!
**Edited** I found it! Get ready for lots of new posts coming your way!

Other Babes in Thriftland - Thrifted Shift
Hi all! Welcome to another addition of Other Babes in Thriftland. This has been so fun so far, I hope you all have enjoyed it too. Today we have Thrifted Shift! I have never met her IRL but I think based on her style and what she writes in her posts, we would get along well! She was the first person to send me an email about joining in on the fun! She has a really cool thing on her blog where she calculates the cost per wear to show how much worth a specific piece in her wardrobe has. How great right?
I had a hard time picking some of my favorite outfits from her posts but here they are!
Thrifted items: T-shirt, jeans, cardigan and the boots are from Ebay! Love this look! Full post here.
Thrifted items: the dress! Full post here.
She gave some great tips on why she wore this outfit while thrifting! Check out the full post here! First of all, no coat despite the rain- nothing extra to carry. Second, bag worn crossbody for maximum arm maneuvering and freedom to elbow (just kidding!) Third, non-bulky form fitting pants so removal is unnecessary for trying on dresses and skirts. Fourth, basic black tank underneath cardigan so removal is unnecessary for trying on tops (I'm not a germ-o-phobe, but I don't feel comfortable wearing used clothes until they've been washed in my home!) Finally, shoes that slip off easily.
Go check her out over at Thrifted Shift! Remember, if you want to join in the fun, send me an email at babesinthriftland@gmail.com and send me a link to your blog, your favorite outfit and some tips/stories from thrifting. Check back next week for

Favorite Finds Friday
Admittedly, these are not the best pictures I've taken. My neighbors kept coming home. One after the other. So, I just gave up. Why yes, I am standing in the wood chips taking pictures of myself with my camera balanced on the community grill. No big deal.
Anyway, this is one of the skirts I got with my awesome overload at Savers the other day. Some of the other pieces were featured on Favorite Finds last week! I did like this outfit when I was wearing it. Sort of felt like a 60's college kid with my plaid skirt and oxfords.
Bad picture but the only one where the rock wasn't blocking my shoes.
Well, I'm so excited for St. Patty's tomorrow. I get to drink during the day, wear my favorite color and celebrate my heritage. What's better than that? Even better, I thought I had to work but turns out I don't! Yay!
Outfit details:
Skirt - Thrifted
Shoes - Two Birds
Shirt, tights - Target
Owl Necklace - Christmas gift from my parents from Styled Life

Other Babes in Thriftland - Emma
Hi all! Welcome to another edition of Other Babes in Thriftland! Today we have the beautiful and sweet Emma of Hello Emma! She has such a great sense of style that makes me very jealous. No matter what she wears, she just exudes a level of cool that I don't have. Not just stylish but also so nice and my friend IRL! I'll let you tell her about her ideas of thrifting in her own words :) Plus, she's wearing a skirt that I found but put in the swap I had. I think it suits her much better than me!
I am not as expert a thrifter as Erin and other bloggers I know, but every once in awhile I'll get the thrifting bug big time. Usually I'll make a list of very specific items I'd love to find to keep me focused, because otherwise I don't know what to look at first! This outfit features my absolute favorite thrift find ever: these awesome wedge Timberland booties shone out to me like a beacon at a local Goodwill a few years ago. Thank goodness they were my size!
The striped t-shirt and straw bag have also been thrifted at various Minneapolis/St. Paul thrift stores. The straw bag is another treasure, found at "Fake Target" (which I found out about on Future Lint, thanks Christine!). If you live anywhere near the Twin Cities and have not been to this secret thrift store, YOU HAVE TO GO. It is in the basement of a regular Salvation Army, but is filled to the brim with overstock from Target - brand new stuff! - plus items they seem to have purchased when trend shopping. I think that's why the bag ended up there, once I found an Isabel Marant tunic for twenty buckaroos! So exciting.
Hmmm, now I've got thrifting on the brain. Guess I'll have to make another trip soon!
scarf: vintage
necklace: vintage
shirt: thrifted
skirt: swap'd, from Erin!
boots: thrifted
bag: fake target thrifted
I'll go thrifting with you!! Can you believe that this whole outfit is swapped/vintage/thrifted?! I hope you enjoyed Emma! Don't forget to check out her blog! If you want to be featured, send me an email at babesinthriftland@gmail.com with a link to your favorite outfit. Also, I would love to hear your tips, a story about thrifting or why you shop at the thrift store!

A Night at the Opera
Hi all! Isn't having a blog great? I got invited to attend the Minnesota Opera for a blogger preview of the new show, Lucia di Lammermoor. I took my lovely friend and co-worker Danielle and it was so fun! I have never been to an opera before so I had no idea what to expect. I was really pleasantly surprised and floored by how amazing the female lead's voice was.
You can see a video clip here if you don't believe me!
It was such a cool experience. We were invited to a dress rehearsal so it felt really special to be there when the theater was almost empty. Total behind the scenes peek! I have quite a few pictures from around St. Paul by the Ordway.

Anjolee
I am still amazed when companies find my blog and want to send me something. When I was contacted by Anjolee, I wasn't sure why a jewelry company wanted to send me something. However, after I went to their website, I was pleasantly surprised by how pretty the jewelry was. I don't know much about diamonds but I like sparkly things so it was the perfect website to browse through. Anjolee is the only jewelry website that offers customers the ability to customize any jewelry designs to the customers’ exact preferences, taste and budget. You can actually pick the metal type, diamond quality and the total carat weight. Cool right? The diamond necklace I decided to go with was the Inverted Teardrop Necklace but they have lots of other styles of diamond necklaces to choose from so go check it out!
It's pretty easy to style a fancier necklace with a dress or other fancy items. I challenged myself to style this necklace in a more casual way to show how well it goes with even the simplest of looks.
Outfit Details
Cardigan - Old
Shirt - Thrifted
Necklace - c/o Anjolee
I really like this necklace a lot. I'm not a big jewelry person so I like that it is simple but beautiful. I feel like I will get a lot of use out of it and it will go with pretty much anything. The company was very easy to work with and my contact was super nice. Only downside is that the chain is very delicate so I was worried I would break it (I didn't!). Go check out the website for more a selection of their diamond tennis necklaces!
*In the interest of full disclosure, I received this necklace in exchange for my review but it was a positive one based on my experience. Also, my necklace is not diamonds :)

Favorite Finds Friday is Back!
I would also say, better than ever but it's not really true. I'm not always the fastest at taking outfit pictures after I find a cool item at the thrift store. I figure this is a good way to share (brag) about new things I've found before I actually style them. Have a great weekend!
Such at steal at $7.99 Is this considered a suit? Not sure I'll ever wear the 2 things together but I think the jacket will be cute with jeans and the dress with a snazzy belt! Any other suggestions?
Loved the color and embroidery of the this sweater. I can't wait to wear it!
Both items are from the Savers in Columbia Heights, MN. I really hope they don't start to raise the prices on vintage items. Just a tip. They have a whole long rack of vintage and I always head there first. This is the first time in a while that I found a TON and it all fit. One other thing I got was the blazer I wore in this post and the matching skirt. Look for another skirt in an upcoming post!

Other Babes in Thriftland - Maggie
Here is the first day of Other Babes in Thriftland and have some really great ladies lined up for you guys/gals so far. Do any guys read my blog? If you do, say hi. That would be kind of cool.
In case you blocked all of last week out of your memory, I'm featuring other ladies who's style I admire that are also Queens of the Thrift Scene. :) My first featured lady is Maggie from Dimestore Diamond. Maggie and I are friends IRL (in real life) and it's been so great getting to know her. She has such a cute style! I love when people wear outfits and you can't tell which item is the thrifted one. She always mixes pieces from the thrift store with pieces from stores like Anthropolgie to make a really unique and expensive looking outfit. Go check her out! She sent me a couple of outfits but I liked them all too much to feature just one!
Thrift items: That dress!! Can you believe it?? As well as the purse. View full post here.
Thrift items: Top and shoes. View full post here.
Isn't she great? Special thanks to Maggie for being the first Other Babe in Thriftland. Look for more lovely ladies every Wednesday. If you want to be featured, send me an email at babesinthriftland@gmail.com with a link to your favorite outfit. Also, I would love to hear your tips, a story about thrifting or why you shop at the thrift store!
